Click on the "Codetype" in the black bar above to calculate your Min Bar Size
People often make errors when guessing the minimum bar width of Barcodes, this means the Scanner will not be matched to the application either it will be over specified and too expensive , or worse still, will be working beyond its capability and delivering poor performance.
All you need to do is look at the start and stop patterns of your code (see examples top of page) to work out which of the main types it is. If you can't work it out please contact your Local SICK office , or fill in the inquiry form at the foot of this page
or checkout this site :- http://www.adams1.com/new.html

This Is Code 128 there are 3 tables , Table A , B , C which is double density
Code 128 includes 107 symbols: 103 data symbols, 3 start codes, and 1 stop code. To represent all 128 ASCII values, there are three code sets (A, B, C), which can be mixed within a single barcode (by using codes 98 and 99 in code sets A and B, 100 in code sets A and C and 101 in code sets B and C to switch between them):
- 128A (Code Set A) - ASCII characters 00 to 95 (0-9, A-Z and control codes), special characters, and FNC 1-4
- 128B (Code Set B) - ASCII characters 32 to 127 (0-9, A-Z, a-z), special characters, and FNC 1-4
- 128C (Code Set C) - 00-99 (encodes each two digits with one code) and FNC1
This Is Code 39 Alpha numeric
The Code 39 specification defines 43 characters, consisting of uppercase letters (A through Z), numeric digits (0 through 9) and a number of special characters (-, ., $, /, +, %, and space). An additional character (denoted '*') is used for both start and stop delimiters. Each character is composed of nine elements: five bars and four spaces. Three of the nine elements in each character are wide (binary value 1), and six elements are narrow (binary value 0). The width ratio between narrow and wide can be chosen between 1:2 and 1:3.
This is Interleaved 2/5 or ITF14 Numeric Only - always even number chrs
ITF-14 is the GS1 implementation of an Interleaved 2 of 5 bar code to encode a Global Trade Item Number. ITF-14 symbols are generally used on packaging levels of a product, such as a case box of 24 cans of soup. The ITF-14 will always encode 14 digits. ITF can be less than 6 characters but will return wrong reads if 2 or 4 digits are used . It is reccomended to use 6 digits or more and use a check digit
This is EAN 13 or 8
An EAN-13 barcode (originally European Article Number, but now renamed International Article Number even though the abbreviation EAN has been retained) is a 13 digit (12 data and 1 check) barcoding standard which is a superset of the original 12-digit Universal Product Code (UPC) system developed in the United States.[1] The EAN-13 barcode is defined by the standards organization GS1.
The EAN-13 barcodes are used worldwide for marking products often sold at retail point of sale. The numbers encoded in EAN-13 bar codes are product identification numbers, which are also called Japanese Article Number (JAN) in Japan. All the numbers encoded in UPC and EAN barcodes are known as Global Trade Item Numbers (GTIN), and they can be encoded in other GS1 barcodes.
The less commonly used EAN-8 barcodes are used also for marking retail goods; however, they are usually reserved for smaller items, for example confectionery.
